Information You Choose to Submit
Search Terms
When you type a name, location, or similar search detail into a sponsored search tool, that query is sent to the third-party provider operating the tool. Logan County Inmate Population does not keep its own separate log of those search terms.
Messages
If you email or otherwise contact us, we may keep the message and reply information long enough to respond and manage the request. We do not share those messages outside the organization unless a valid legal requirement applies.
Information Collected During a Visit
Like most websites, this site may receive routine technical data when a page loads or when browser tools communicate with the server.
- Internet Protocol address.
- Browser name, browser version, and language settings.
- Device category and operating system.
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on those pages.
- Referring website or search engine, when available.
- Date and time of the request.
Cookies
Cookies and similar browser storage may be used to understand site usage, support analytics, and help advertising systems work. You can block cookies in your browser, although some functions may behave differently after blocking them.
How the Information Is Used
- Keep pages available, readable, and fast enough for visitors.
- Send sponsored search requests to the provider handling that search box.
- Understand which Logan County, Thomas County Jail, court, KDOC, and locator pages are useful.
- Find broken links, display problems, and other technical issues.
- Show advertising that may be based on general visitor interests.
Outside Websites and Public Records
This site links to jail rosters, sheriff and police pages, Kansas court resources, KDOC KASPER, BOP, ICE, VINELink, and third-party search tools. Once you click away, the privacy policy and terms of that outside site apply.
Kansas public-record access is governed in part by the Kansas Open Records Act, including K.S.A. 45-215, 45-218, and 45-221. Those laws concern access to government records, not private control over the technical data collected by this website. Advertising partners may also use their own systems to recognize activity across sites.
Who May Receive Information
We do not sell personal data as a standalone product. Information may still be available to the parties needed to run the site or comply with law.
- Search partners that process sponsored search queries.
- Analytics providers that measure page performance and usage.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law enforcement, courts, or government bodies when a subpoena, court order, or other valid legal process requires it.
Security
We use reasonable, standard security practices for a small public-information website. No internet-connected system can be promised as breach-proof, and this notice does not create a guarantee that unauthorized access can never occur.
Visitors Under 18
This site is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If a minor submitted information, contact us so the submission can be reviewed for deletion.
Your Choices and Requests
- Ask for a copy of personal information we maintain about you.

Kansas consumer-protection law, including the Kansas Consumer Protection Act at K.S.A. 50-623 and related sections, addresses deceptive or unconscionable practices in consumer transactions. This privacy notice is written to explain our practices plainly, but it does not limit any nonwaivable right you may have under applicable law.
Policy Updates
This notice may be updated as site features, search partners, advertising tools, or legal requirements change. The updated version takes effect when posted on this page with its revised wording.
